Announcements

  • Here is a spreadsheet you can use to enter hypothetical grades to calculate a projected final numerical class grade. Please use this sheet to determine how your final numerical grade would change given different hypothetical grades on your final exam.
  • The grades spreadsheet has your letter grade if you do not take the final. So if you see your letter grade and am happy with it, you can skip the final and that is the letter grade you will receive.
  • Today I will hand back papers and exam 3. You can compare your answers on Exam 3 to the answer key. The score sheet for the paper is written for me, and is not meant to be a description to the student of their grade.
  • On Friday I will discuss the final exam.

  • We have grades to exam 3 posted. But some students have not taken a similar version of the exam and so we cannot discuss it yet.
  • On Wednesday we will hand back Exam 3 and possibly papers.
  • Good chance paper grades will be finalized by Wednesday class. But thus far, if your paper has already been graded, its final grade will equal the current entered grade.
  • On Friday I will discuss the final exam.
  • Remember you can drop your lowest exam score, so if you like the grade you see after all papers are graded there is no need to take the final.

  • We are in the process of finalizing Homework 2 grades.
  • I have posted 6 week grades for you. The calculations assume your paper grade equals your exam 1 grade.
  • Most of you did just okay on Homework 6, but either did not use the spreadsheet exactly right or used some assumptions that were a bit unreasonable (like a 10% return on all investments). This video shows you not only the answers, but how I got the answers, and in the process shows you how to use the worksheet and how to get the numbers you need for part B of the paper.
